What Have PromoPower Been Up To So Far in 2010
Only 2 weeks into the New Year and PromoPower have been busy already.
Well firstly something we are very proud to have helped with was the 2010 London Parade. How? Roller skates! Yep Promopower provided roller skates to be used for the parade and they went down a treat.
The parade itself was as spectacular as ever and was attended by thousands of spectators. The sights and sounds were enthralling, the atmosphere engaging and the crowd loved every minute of it. We were very happy to see the roller skates PromoPower had provided being used for such a great day.
Although we did not personally engage in any marketing at the London Parade, these are often amazing opportunities for experiential and field marketing.
Face painting and balloon modeling fit into the spirit of parades perfectly, but other opportunities including sampling (providing food and drinks samples to the hungry crowd) can have huge benefits and returns. Parades attract people, peole get hungry and thirsty and providing them free samples of food and drink can prvide great brand awareness. This same face-to-face sampling and marketing can be used at other events such as a county fair or trade shows and exhibitions. We call these types of place to place marketing ‘Road Shows’ due to the travel involved as they target different places and events.
Road shows don’t just target events and occasions though, supermarkets are very successful in drawing interest from consumers, and a well presented and targeted marketing activity can produce great results in this environment especially if the supermarket that is targeted stocks the brand or product being promoted.
Another activity that PromoPower have been engaged in for a while now is the provision of distributors for the Lancashire Evening Post every Saturday. We are proud that this has been so successful throughout 2009 that they Lancashire Evening Post are increasing their sites and distribution levels considerably in 2010.
Leafleting and Distribution can be a very successful marketing endeavour if done correctly. To be truly successful leafleting must target the right areas and the right consumer or clientele, if not it becomes a pointless exercise, so deciding this all beforehand is of paramount importance and this is something PromoPower will endeavour to help clients with before we begin.
For full information on Road shows, leafleting and distribution and other field marketing options available from PromoPower, visit our website and contact us today.

Face Painting and Balloon Modeling with PromoPower
Face painting is one the most successful field marketing experiences PromoPower offers when it comes to promoting children’s events and merchandise. Children are greatly influenced by fun and interactive forms of entertainment. It gives them an enjoyable time whilst participating, and it gives them strong and happy memories, and it is this that makes them remember what is being promoted.
An example would be something such as the launch of a children’s movie, or a children’s video game, or even promotion of children’s breakfast cereal. Using something as unique and interactive as face painting, leaves an impressionable mark and memory on the child and lets them think back on it in a fond and pleasant way, thus making them more likely to want to see the film, play the game or try the cereal. And if you can make the face painting even more specific to the brand you are pushing, even better. Remember parents love taking photos of their children during such events and experiences, it forms part of their future memories, and what a great way to remind them of your brand than looking back over photos advertising it to them in such a fondly remembered way?
Speaking of parents, their children’s emotions, feelings and entertainment is of vital importance to them, so the fact a company is preparing such a great day of entertainment for their children means a great deal to them. This in turn will make them look at the brand being promoted favourably and more likely to take their children to see the film, buy them the game or decide that cereal is worth trying for their children.
Balloon modeling works in exactly the same way as face painting, and at PromoPower we try to suggest as a marketing event strategy that where possible both are used together.
Balloon modelers provide a more visual stimulus to the children as they watch the balloon models being created. It provides entertainment from the balloon modeler who keeps the children in attendance amused with not only modelling but banter, interaction and humour. And of course the children get to keep the balloon models afterwards as a keepsake, which should ideally be branded with whatever merchandise is being marketed.
As you can see, the benefits of face painting and balloon modeling as part of a marketing strategy can be paramount when dealing with children and children’s products or brands. PromoPower have had massive success in the past with these entertaining days and we have professional balloon modelers and face painters available for any occasion.
Recently one of our face painters Jo Sykes, member of The Face Painting Association and a regular worker for PromoPower, organised an event at the Holy Trinity Centre in Newcastle as a form of networking for new and established face painters to try their skills, exchange tips and of course provide entertainment for the public, adult and children alike (yes adults do love having their faces painted too!); what a great way to show their devotion to their art and how professional face painters are.
For more information on how face painters and balloon modelers can be used to help promote your business or brand, visit the PromoPower website and contact us today.

What is Experiential Marketing?
The term experiential marketing can be something of a confusing one, but it can also be one of the most successful types of marketing available to a company if utilised correctly.
The term comes from the fact that this type of marketing provides an ‘experience’, specifically for the target audience, or consumer. This leads us to the next question, what is an experience?
An experience is generally when our promotional staff have interaction at some level with the target audience of our clients. This can be demonstrations or explanations of products which in turn make consumers more aware of the brand and products being marketed to them; this helps the brand ambassadors connect with the consumers in a face to face environment. Sampling, demonstrating, exhibition stands, events and road shows are some examples of experiential marketing.
Many other types of marketing come under the umbrella of experiential marketing, and vice versa. Field marketing is the most common bedfellow as they go hand in hand and compliment one another perfectly.
Field marketing involves trained field marketing and promotions staff conducting activities for clients “in the field”. This means in person, engaging with the consumers in a variety of ways. As you can see this sounds a lot like experiential marketing, however there is a good rule of thumb to take note of:
"Most experiential marketing is field marketing, but not all field marketing is experiential marketing!"
This makes sense when you think that field marketing can involve, for example, leafleting and distribution either to passing customers or door to door canvassing; not really a deep customer experience, thus it wouldn’t all under the term experiential marketing.
PromoPower are experts in the field of experiential and field marketing, we’ve been helping clients with this type of marketing for years, helping them provide consumers with brand awareness, product knowledge and increasing sales and consumer interest.
We have supplied fully trained actor, actresses and presenters for road shows, events and exhibitions. We have on hand professional models, dancers and even DJs to help with entertainment and visual and audio stimuli for consumers. PromoPower have had great success with entertainers such as face painters and balloon modellers at the launches of children’s movies, toys and even clothing ranges. Our hospitality staff for corporate events are professional, informative and engaging.
All of this boils down to making the marketing endeavour into something memorable and in turn an experience the consumers remember and enjoy, and that leads to improves sales, brand awareness and increased profits.
